Pet ownership is a responsibility that sometimes (quite often) is not taken seriously by some pet owners in Magnolia Valley. Some pet owners allow their dogs and cats to roam freely about in the community defecating in yards or in the case of cats urinating in flowerbeds or against homes.

Some pet owner show some responsibility by fencing in the rear of their yard but at the same time allow there dogs to bark all day long when they are away and never seem to go out to clean the yard up after their pets. This allows the odor to carry to your back yard were you try to enjoy the surroundings.

These and many more problems arise with irresponsible pet ownership. Pasco County will not allow us as a community organization to directly intervene on your behalf as we are not the effected party, we can however help you by giving you the tools and guidance you need in order to proceed with the procedures the county has put in place for these matters.

You will find two (2) affidavits below to print, notarize, and return to the county, the first is a “nuisance” affidavit used for

As unfortunate as it is there seems to be nothing you can do about cats running loose as long as they are provided food, water and there condition monitored every 24 hours.

Please print and read the affidavit carefully. This process does take some time and effort on your part but does work if done correctly. There is a question and answer sections in the affidavit that will help you along.

The complaint affidavit is used for incidents such as attacks to other animals or people. Your animal control Officer or Sheriff will know when to use this form. There are questions and answers on this affidavit also.

The General Affidavit is used for other to help you with your complaint by adding a hand written statement.

It is the opinion of this committee that the animal control ordinance controls only dogs and pot belly pigs and that the Pasco County Board of County Commissioners need to amend this ordinance in a way that will include all animals and pets that are found in our communities. It would behoove the county attorneys office to contact a community group like C.O.N.A. in order to gather data from there member community organizations as to the problems found in there communities.
